The Man Behind RV Basic Training LLC - Gary Lewis  IS  RV Basic Training LLC.

Driving a Class A motor home can be an experience that creates a lot of stress.

Knowing this, Gary was determined to get comfortable with driving his RV coach.  He enrolled in Bus Driving School, where he earned hisCommercial Drivers License and an Air Brake endorsement. Driving a Class A motor home is far more enjoyable and far less stressful when you know what you’re doing.

His continued experiences delivering motor homes across country and working with “Commerical Drive Away” led to contacts with many new RV drivers.  Time after time, he was asked the same questions:  “How do I do this? How do I do that? etc, etc. It was obvious that many new RV drivers were in need of more information and training.  Thus the five page document  of  RV DRIVING TIPS was developed and given out free to new RV drivers.  .

Upon becoming the Press Fleet Co-Coordinator for a major RV manufacturer, Gary was able to show many first-time RV users how easy it is to drive a motor home.  It was this experience that sparked the flames that became RV Basic Training LLC and the RV Boot Camps.

When attending RV Boot Camp, we approach your training as if we were showing our best friends what they needed to know to keep safe and have an enjoyable RV driving experience. We show you the RV difference; how to do a Pre-Trip inspection; how to set your Mirrors;  and we show you the skills every commercial driver MUST know and every RV driver SHOULD know.

We show you how to use Reference Points and understand Tail-Swing and Off Track.  We show you how to keep a safe following distance and what you need to know to drive in comfort, be it an urban, country or freeway traffic situation.  We believe it’s easier to STAY out of trouble than it is to GET out of trouble.  

At RV Basic Training our experienced trainers will come to you and you will train in your own RV.  For the RVer who lives in an area where we do not yet have a trainer, the RV Basic Training Home Study Course with video is coming soon.
