Testimonial from Ellen and Bob

Hi Gary

Just wanted to drop you a line.. you came thru st. louis, mo in late April 2013 and gave rv driving instructions to Bob and Ellen S.. we were able to use a parking lot at a nearby mall that was no longer being used.. we are on our second major trip .. traveling from st. louis.. to colorado.. to MT then AZ.

We are splitting the driving about 50/50.. i never would have felt confident enough to drive the rv
if we had not taken instructions.. so, thanks again for the service you provide.

Sincerely,

Ellen and Bob

Driver Training Testimonial-WOW!

tom val mobile vehicle training2Gary,

I have a word to say about your training and instruction on driving our motor home.. WOW!

I had limited experience in driving a motor home before we purchased our motor home and I freely admit I was a bit nervous about the road test for my class B DVM license. My wife does not even like to drive my large SUV because she says it is just too big. But when you put her behind the wheel of our 40 motor home and she went through the driving skills with you I was amazed! You were patient with her and gave her confidence in putting our motor home through those tricky maneuvers.

You are one of those rare individuals who easily relates to your students, conveyed your training program in such a way that we learned a great deal, it was a fun experience and we thoroughly enjoyed your training program. Although we had both read your training manual, as first time motor home owners, we learned a things we didn't know about our coach during your Pre-Trip inspection training. I would recommend you without reservations to anyone who needs RV training. We are both looking forward to taking our road tests for our class B drivers License thanks to you.

Please feel free to post this on your web site and/or give our names and contact information to anyone seeking a reference for your valuable service. It was worth every penny and time well spent.

Regards,

Tom and Val

Follow Up Testimonial from Karen

Gary and Cy,1-RV training pic

I just came across this email and realized I never told you about what I did with my new RV driving skills. We went on a few local trips within a 4 hour drive from our home. And I did all the drivings and did great.

Then, just the kids and I took 3 weeks and drove all through the northeast. Upstate New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Cape Cod (got re-routed through downtown Boston which was a little scary on their narrow roads, but did just fine) and then drove home through the Pocono Mountains. My husband was able to fly out to be with us on the weekends.

I would never have imagined I could do that by myself. I am so excited for the weather to finally warm up here in Michigan because I've already started planning trips for this summer.

One thing I will say is this....if you can send me some of your business cards, I would love to share them with people. I had SOOOO many people ask me, "Did you drive that thing all by yourself?" When I told them that I did, they alwways wanted to know all about how I learned to drive it. I gave them your website, but it would have been so much nicer to have been able to hand them a card or brochure or something. Or even email a flyer to me that I can print out. Is there one on your website?

Thank you again so much. Knowing how to drive our motorhome empowers me!

A Perfect Non-Commercial Class B Drive Test

todd passes testIn California, when you purchase a motor home that is over 40 feet in length, you are required to obtain a Non-Commercial Class B (Housecar) license. We have a Boot Camp for that where we prepare you for the driving skills and road test. I am pleased to recognize the perfect drive test results achieved by a recent RV Boot Camp grad, Todd G, who is the proud owner of a 43 foot Entegra.

The driving skills test must be completed before leaving the DMV lot. There are four basic driving skills: Straight Line Backing, Alley Dock Backing, Offset Backing, Right or Left and Sight-Side or Conventional Parallel Parking. For the Housecar test the DMV usually requires that you complete only the Straight Line and Alley Dock backing. Straight Line backing involves backing your RV 100 feet in a 12 foot wide space, while keeping within the lines and stopping in a 2 foot “box”, before the end of the lane. Alley Dock backing involves backing your RV into a space that is 12 foot X 20 foot while stopping in the 2 foot “box” at the back of the site. You can see from Todd’s Pre-Trip sheet, he was perfect!

Once you have shown the DMV examiner that you know how to do the basic skills, it’s out on the road to show him or her that you know what you’re doing in traffic. There will be at least four turns to the left, four turns to the right, lane changes, numerous intersections and a trip onto the freeway and off again, all while the examiner is watching to make sure you are checking your mirrors, using your turn signals, staying centered in your lane and doing your traffic checks. Again, Todd did a perfect job, zero deductions!

As everyone who has ever taken a test knows, there is a lot of pressure and sometimes ones nerves can get the best of them. For this reason we will do our best to show you what to expect on your drive test so that you too can get the perfect score. Congratulations Todd!
